Tritiumgaslichtquellen (auch GTLS oder trigalights genannt) werden u.a. in der Uhrenindustrie als Leuchtmittel verwendet. Dieses Gas wird in speziell beschichtete Röhrchen gefüllt, welche z.B. auf den Zeigern oder dem Zifferblatt angebracht werden. Die Leuchtkraft und Leuchtdauer der Röhrchen hebt sich von klassischen Leuchtmitteln, wie Super-Luminova, deutlich ab. Obwohl Tritium radioaktiv ist, sorgt die Innenbeschichtung der angebrachten Röhrchen dafür, dass die radioaktive Strahlung nahezu restlos absorbiert wird und für den Träger absolut ungefährlich ist. Die Strahlung durch eine Uhr mit Tritiumröhrchen beträgt gerade einmal 1:2000 (0,05%) der natürlichen Strahlenbelastung der alltäglichen Umwelt. Die Herstellung der Röhrchen erfolgt zudem unter strengen Sicherheitsvorkehrungen und Qualitätsstandards. Vostok Europe Uhren werden mit Tritiumröhrchen der schweizer Firma mb-microtec ausgestattet.
